CURRENT PROJECTS
The following is a list of current Volunteer Services Council projects. You may donate to these projects or to the general fund by completing the contribution form.
The Opening Doors Project is designed to replace doors and/or install automatic openers for two buildings, the gym and the Thera-pool. The east side of our gym currently has two sets of glass doors. One set needs to be removed and replaced with one extra wide glass door with an automatic opener. The pool entrance currently has a set of glass doors that open into a small foyer and needs an automatic opener. Total cost for the project is $5,400. The Council recently raised enough funds to purchase the gym door and it should be in place soon. They are still working on the automatic door for the Thera-pool.

Sprinkler Project - The Lubbock State School campus is loosing plant material due to lack of water. Many of current systems on campus are inefficient and ineffective. We plan to install underground sprinkler systems on the portions of our campus that do not already have systems. The project will increase the enjoyment of the outdoors and allow more efficient watering and decrease water run-off across sidewalks. Automated sprinkler systems need to be placed around all homes and several support building and administrative buildings. The parts - pipe, fittings, glue, heads, wire, solenoids, timers, valves, boxes, sensors and backflow preventors - will cost $62,500.
